Whipped Shea Body Butter for Glowing Skin

Thereโ€™s something sacred about making your own body butter โ€” itโ€™s a slow ritual that reminds your body it is worth the softness. This whipped shea recipe is a staple in the Ayaya household, crafted to nourish dry skin, seal in moisture, and leave your body shining like royalty.

The blend includes rich butters, healing oils, and a lavender-vanilla scent that soothes the nervous system while hydrating your skin. Itโ€™s beauty with intention โ€” the way our ancestors meant it.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup raw shea butter
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (unrefined)
  • 2 tbsp sweet almond oil or jojoba oil
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops vanilla extract or essential oil (optional)
  • Small pinch of arrowroot powder (for a non-greasy feel)

Instructions:

  1. In a double boiler or glass bowl over simmering water, melt the shea butter and coconut oil together until fully liquid.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the almond oil, essential oils, and arrowroot powder.
  3. Let the mixture cool slightly, then place it in the fridge for 30โ€“60 minutes, until semi-solid.
  4. Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture for 3โ€“5 minutes until fluffy and creamy.
  5. Scoop into a clean glass jar with a lid. Store in a cool area away from direct sunlight.

Tips & Variations:

  • Add 1 tsp of Vitamin E oil for extra skin healing.
  • For a cooling summer version, mix in a few drops of peppermint oil.
  • If allergic to nuts, swap almond oil for grapeseed or apricot kernel oil.

Holistic Benefits:

Shea butter deeply nourishes and protects the skin barrier, while coconut oil holds ancestral power for purification. Lavender calms both the skin and the spirit, inviting softness into your day. Every jar is a return to ritual, rest, and radical self-love.
